A little bit of history

Ancient history is revived on the peninsula of Sirmione.

Due to its strategic position the city was once the location of Roman and Longobard settlements until it became a border territory of the powerful Republic of Venice.

Over the years, many illustrious historical figures have chosen Sirmione as a place of residence, among them Catullus, who praised its beauty in a famous poem.
